The Latest CTC Success Stories!

We recently received two great success stories from CTC students that we are excited to share! Meet Felix and Taylor.

Felix A. – Hospitality and Resort Business Management Program

About a year ago, I decided that I would like to start a career in the Hospitality industry. Having zero knowledge and experience in the industry, I realized that obtaining some sort of diploma was the only way to go to start this journey. After months of doing my research, I decided to enroll in the Hospitality and Resort Business Management Program at Canadian Tourism College. Aside from their experience for over 30 years in the industry, the location and flexible course schedule were exactly what I was looking for.

Deby Basra, the academic advisor, did an awesome job explaining all the programs that CTC has to offer. She helped me to choose what program that best suited for me. Patrick Akuagwu, the Hospitality Courses Instructor, and Isabel Angel, the Business Courses Instructor, have been more than just teachers to me. Their wisdom and encouragement never fails to propel me to strive for the best. They always have the time whenever I need them. Their years of experience in the industry has helped me tremendously in preparing myself in the workforce.

Having no experience, I never thought that I would be a part of a work team for one of the most luxurious hotels in the world. Working for Fairmont Pacific Rim is beyond my wildest dreams. I’m currently employed as a banquet houseman in the banquet department. I truly believe this is my stepping stone to my journey in event planning career. In the end, this has been a wonderful and exciting experience for me with CTC. I learned a lot and I gained a lot more after I finish the program. This experience would mean nothing without the love and support from my fabulous fellow hoteliers (you know who you are 😉) that I met at CTC. I would also like to personally send my utmost gratitude to Patrick Akuagwu and Isabel Angel for their encouragement and dedication in helping me to be the best version of myself!

Taylor B. – Flight Attendant Program

CTC and Christina have given me the confidence and encouragement that I needed in order to do something that I was too scared to do for the last 10 years. Looking back on my life I’ve always said I was proud of myself but it wasn’t until CTC and the Flight Attendant Diploma Program that I can now say I am proud of myself, who I have become and what I have accomplished. I will never be able to put into words the joy that this school and program has given to me or the feeling I had not only with my first airline interview but when I landed my job at Flair Airlines.

My gratitude for everyone involved in those short few months of my life will always be so high. Christina and this program/school will forever hold a huge spot in my heart. Her continued support even through initial training breakdowns was amazing. I will always credit her for this huge success that has been so life changing. This career path that I am on is one that I am so immensely excited about and I cannot wait to share my stories with everyone at CTC. Without their support and confidence in me I would not have the confidence in myself that I know is the reason I am where I am today! 36,000 feet up in the air and so incredibly happy. The evening when I received my wings my face was sore from an ear to ear smile I held all night, thank you CTC for that continual smile.
